Bianca Calandra

Bianca Calandra is a French-Australian multi-disciplined artist working in the realms of

video, animation, design, music and painting.

Imagining other worlds - spectral, dystopian, gothic and science fiction inspired universes

that explore themes such as; dreams, the darker side of human nature and society,

the shadow, loneliness, transcendence.

Born in Australia, now based in the south of France, she formally studied design and film making in Sydney. She has worked in the Australian film industry, exhibited artwork in Australia, Germany and France as well as directed/edited/designed all of Machine est mon Coeur's music videos to date. She is currently working on a short, independent, science fiction film as director/designer.

The guitarist/vocalist in French ethereal darkwave duo ‘Machine est mon Coeur’ who have released one self-titled EP (2007), and one LP 'Dystopium' (2015). They have played in France, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden and Australia.

In 2019, 'Machine est mon Coeur' film clips were officially selected to screen at film festivals in

the USA, Norway, Finland, Russia, Romania, Greece, Poland, Croatia, Brazil, Colombia and Portugal.

In 2019, the animation 'Trainwreck' won 'Best experimental film' at the 'Imagine This Women’s International Film Festival' in New York, USA.
